Thanksgiving -and a little more on the side-

Before I start dishing on the abnormal quantities of turkey I ate during Thanksgiving, let me just introduce you to this wonderful family.
They are THE nicest people ever, their house is really cozy, they always have lots of food in their pantry (hmmwhat what) as well as lots of kids running around.
They're the Trads.
And I kind of secretly consider them family. Not to sound disgustingly cheesy, but I DO feel at home whenever I'm at their house.
And whoa whoa whoa. I never thought I'd find a louder family then mine, but it certainly looks like I found our match!
And I don't mean 'loud' because kids are running in and out of the house 24/7 or throwing turkey legs around but because they have THE MOST inappropriate conversations in the world.
I obviously fit right in there.
I won't elaborate on the discussions we had but I did choke a little here and there on some stuffing just from laughing.

Anyway, I went to their house twice these last couple months, once to celebrate the birthday of one of the loveliest grandmothers on the planet (Marija, who's blowing out the candles in the picture below) and for Thanksgiving! So I decided to include pictures from both bunches.

Marija. I just love her.
KIDS EVERYWHERE!
That's Isabelle, who's in college and who's for obvious reasons, still a kid.
I think that's why we get along so well.
I've been told that we're pretty obnoxious when we're together.
I wonder why that is...
Okay now THAT was a piece of heaven.
Maple syrup cheesecake with caramelized pears.
BOSSNESS.
That's Catherine. Blonde bombshell!
Props to the Trads!
Because it's always Thanksgiving at their house.

my sister, who's somewhere in India

I don't think I've ever mentioned this (or maybe I have) but my little sister's in India! She just finished high school and she and her best friend (the one with sassy short hair on the right) embarked on a little adventure around the world. Oh yeah, they're also going to Australia, New Zealand and to other fun places!
They're both volunteering at a school right now in Hunsur but let me just say, they have been to some PRETTY CHIC places.
This still blows my mind a little but long story short; my parents know the consul of Goa (Goa being a state in the south of India AND a Portuguese ex-colony) who invited the girls to stay at his place, which is by the way huge and amazing. Mr.Consul of Goa, who's an extremely nice man, knows a lot of people and gets the girls a private house on a beach where Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt stayed. SAME HOUSE, SAME BED. Yes. My sister slept in Brad Pitt's bed. If I had been in her situation, I would have cut a piece of the bed or maybe just TIED myself to the bed.
Anyway.
I would probably hate her right now BUT I have some pretty spectacular news myself. Beats any gap year and sleeping in Brad Pitt's bed. Will dish on that tomorrow!

By the way, excuse the picture quality; they were downloaded off facebook. Tried to edit them as best as I could!

How gorgeous are these girls. Seriously.
A monk on a bike. This is the kind of stuff I live for.

Oh and they make videos too. If you wanna see what it's like to sleep on Brad Pitt's bed (or see a cow chilling on the beach) , you should watch this.

Canon toy FOR SALE!

Photobucket
Photobucket
So it's officially official, I'm going to sell my camera.
I was originally going to sell it with my 18-200mm lens BUT it complicates things a bit.
See, that lens is quite an expensive little number and it would mean I'd have to sell the camera for double the price I'm asking so I'll only be selling the body.
There are seriously a million great Canon lenses for sale on the internet and it'd be a better deal for you.
