the zoo

My father and I went to the zoo today because I needed to take some pictures for a photography assignment. We got busted for "trespassing".
See those lemurs? We wanted to get a closer look at them so I stepped over a little fence with my dad trying to be responsible saying "don't do that, it's... don't do that OKAY" and two seconds later he was like "just um... let's switch places for a second". And 10 minutes later a "zoo person" busted our lil' derrieres.
Anyway what would've happened had I fallen into the lemur pit? The best those lemurs could've done was stare at me with their intimidating eyes. Or poke me. Or eat my hair. Them mini-koalas ain't got nothin' on me.
I know they're not koalas by the way, they just look like mini versions of them, plus "mini-koalas" is what comes to mind, not "lemurs".
Sometimes I think I'm still five years old. Like Benjamin Button in reverse.
More to come tomorrow!

Haha. Everybody goes over the barriers at our zoo. It's probably not safe, but it's more fun that way.

At the zoo in Shangahi (yepsie, in China) the Lemurs are just out and about for people to touch and interact with. It was a little weird at first--slightly unnerving, yes--but cool after awhile. They're pretty chill. At least those ones were. They're also soft. And they didn't freak out when my 3-yr-old nephew tried "petting" one (love tap, maybe?) Your zoo keeper was TOTALLY overeating. You could have totally taken on a whole cage of those suckers. ;) haha.
