Today I had to go to the Canadian embassy to take care of some stuff and since their offices are in downtown D.C I thought I'd take my camera and snap some pictures! I'm not a fan of D.C, at all, but I have to admit that the downtown area is a fun place to visit! I went to Chinatown and surprisingly, I didn't see any Chinese people, not that I looked for them everywhere, but I just didn't notice the "Asianness" of Chinatown.
'Twas a nice walk, still!

Did I mention I saw Macy Gray in the metro? It was probably just a normal woman with a groovy afro, but I like to believe I saw a celebrity, so, don't be a killjoy and tell me that it couldn't have been her because she's recording an album in California or something.
My question to you:  have you ever seen a celebrity? and can you believe I've never actually seen one in my life?
Except Bob Dylan at a concert, but he's 100 years old now so that doesn't count.

ps: a huge thank you to Chrissy for giving me the Stylish/Versatile blog award!!

I work in DC (about 5 blocks from Chinatown). I am often rushing to/from/around work so I don't always appreciate how beautiful the city is. These photos helped me remember I need to spot & enjoy the city. your pictures are amazing!

Those pictures are beautiful! Looks great there!
I have actually seen some celebrities, Michael Jackson at a concert, Shia Lebeouf, Patrick Dempsey filming Transformers downtown Chicago, Johnny Depp filming on set in Wisconsin...and some more, don't remember right now!
Hope your day is fabulous! And you're welcome for the awards!

Ah, I wish I was in DC today. It was way too beautiful outside to be stuck on campus. I'm lucky that the UMD has a pretty campus though.

As for celebs, I've seen Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova in the Bahamas, John Kerry, and I've met Annie Leibovitz, the guys from Chromeo, Hellogoodbye -- pretty much a lot of people from bands, haha. Oh, and I've met some guy who played the brother on Hannah Montana (according to my little cousins).

Other than concerts I haven't seen any celebs.

I love those pictures, they're so gorgeous! Congrats on you Stylish/Versatile blog award, that's a great accomplishment.
Aside form the channel 5 news guy and figure skater Michelle Kwan, I've really only met one famous person--Halle Berry. But she's pretty big, so I think that makes up for my lack of celebrity sightings.

P.S. On the Extreme Georgia Theme, is there a way to make the center column wider? I have to make my pictures way too small with its current size, so I changed layouts until I can figure that out. Thanks!

Cool pictures! I love the red vespa.

And I've met a few celebrities, pretty much all musicians such as Jason Mraz and KT Tunstall. Both are really sweet.

You are a great photographer, Lula! I want to go to DC and visit all the museums, I think it looks amazing there! And how fun you spotted Macy Gray- it was totally her, I just know it! Hope you have a terrific Friday!

I almost didn't recognize the city! It wasn't until I saw the picture with the Newseum that I started paying more attention. These pictures give the city a totally different perspective!

Awesome photos. Question, what kind of camera do you use? And to answer yours...I once saw Jessica Biel in Coronado California grabbing coffee. She was there making a movie. I've also seen Michael Jordan. My husband shook his hand, and MJ shook it kinda wimpy, so the hubby asked if he would shake it again like a real man. Ohhh gosh....

haha i secretly love green juice and can't figure out why.

i think i waited on rob dyrdek at the diner where i used to work once...it probably wasn't him, but he was short, with a flatbrim and tattoos. and he left me a big tip. thus, random customer=celebrity crush. haha i tried to convince everyone at work it was him and they didn't believe me.

(but if it WAS him, he likes roast beef clubs and mozzerella sticks. just sayin'.)

my family took a trip to DC growing up and walked EVERYWHERE. so much that we still refer to it as the DC death march. Poor Dad, he just wanted us to exercise and learn at the same time. :)

That turtle is awesome!

I was at a wedding with Sissie Spacek. Her daughter (who appeared in the movie Orange County) was a bridesmaid when my husband's cousin got married. I stood on the sidewalk with her 3 feet away and didn't have the guts to even say "Hello" - wimp! Then when we were leaving I almost ran her over in the parking lot!! Haha!!

Forgot to mention - the last time I was in Las Vegas at Tao nightclub Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was at the table next to ours. His bodyguards were standing on the partial wall by the dance floor. Oblivious me was getting up on the wall to dance and they questioned what I was doing. I didn't even realize who the dude was so I said "I just wanna dance" My friend had to tell me "That's Floyd Mayweather, Jr.!!" I said "Oh - who is he?" Haha!!
